About this estimator and the Class B process
Is this estimate accurate?
It's a good indicative range. For a precise quote we factor in: exact carton specs, real-time vessel availability, current SARS duty for your specific HS code, optional inspection, and your delivery postcode. Submit your supplier pro-forma and we'll lock in the exact total within 1 business day.
Why is the service fee only 3%?
BestDealz earns its keep through transparent logistics work — sea/air freight, customs clearance and last-mile — at competitive rates. The 3% service fee covers the platform: escrow, Trade Assurance dispute mediation, supplier verification and the technology that keeps everything moving.
How do I know which freight type is right?
For shipments under 30 kg total, air freight is usually only 5–8 days but costs 4–6× more per kg than sea. For most B2B orders, sea LCL (30–35 days) is the right choice. Batteries always ship sea due to UN 3480 air restrictions. This estimator hides the option automatically when the rules apply.
What if I don't know the CBM?
Enter carton length, width and height (in cm) and the number of cartons — we'll calculate CBM for you. Or, if your supplier already gave you CBM, type it in directly. The two inputs sync automatically.
What HS code / duty rate should I use?
Use our HS code lookup tool to find the right SARS code. When you submit your supplier pro-forma, our customs broker pre-classifies the goods so the duty rate on the final quote is correct.
